I began printmaking while studying A-Level Art at Portora Royal School in Enniskillen, but having turned down the opportunity to attend Art college I left it behind me for some time... and this is a little bit about how I came back to it.

I attended the University of Ulster at Jordanstown and achieved an honours degree in Communication, Advertising & Marketing, and began a career in sponsorship and PR with Guinness.

In 2001, at the age of 23, my family and I were involved in a serious accident, the trauma and personal injury suffered forced a career break, though when I was able I decided to add to my skill set while I continued to recover and completed a HND in Graphic Design as well as workshops in silk screen, photo intaglio and collograph printmaking.

I now work as a freelance graphic designer and printmaker, finding one can feed and progress the other. I find printmaking to be both therapeutic and rewarding, and working for myself I can manage my own injury from the accident when needed and work when possible.

I have developed some of my own printmaking techniques and I’m always thinking of what I’ll do in the future. (If only I could remember everything.) I print nearly all my work in Belfast Print Workshop on quality printmaking paper, using hand mixed or intaglio inks. All of the work is designed or drawn by me and I print everything by hand.

I sell prints from St. George's Market, Belfast every Sunday; and truly find trading there

a personally rewarding endeavour. The other traders, customers and general atmosphere

have helped make me feel part of the market and in turn the city.

I have also enjoyed the opportunity to perform as an extra in several high profile TV shows

filmed in Northern Ireland including Game of Thrones, The Fall and Hidden. As well as the

coming films The Wipers Times and Starred Up.
